If you’re expecting a story about technology gone bad stop reading, this is a personal story about life. In 8 days my oldest son will get married. It’s the first marriage of his generation on either side of our family, so it’s a big deal. Not that all marriages in our family aren’t a big deal but this being the first means lots of new experiences, feelings and emotions. That’s what this post is about.
This morning, quite unexpectedly, I was overcome with emotion for the upcoming wedding. My wife and I were discussing things we thought the kids would need starting out their new life together and all I could think about was how much fun those first days, weeks and months were after my wife and I got married. Not that the following years of our marriage haven’t been fun
and exciting, Becki and I still enjoy doing new things together and love spending time with each other, but for those first months of marriage everything is new.
Now our son and his new wife (our new daughter) will get to experience each new day together. Whether it’s a good day, or the occasional bad day, they will have each other to go to, lean on, support and share together. And they have the added comfort of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to guide, support, laugh and cry with them.
Thank you Jesus for your blessing on their lives and on ours.
Now I better stop before my tears short ot th k3yb0r6….
