I’ve starting using a new Web 2.0 service. Twitter.com is a micro-blog. Limited to 140 characters that can be written on the website, through several standalone apps (like Twhirl) or delivered through an SMS message, Twitter allows you to blog the mundane parts of your life. You can also follow other twitterers, personal friends, local people or celebrities.

OLPC for Paige
Well, I (well, some friends and I) purchased 2 OLPCs today. One is going to a needy third world child and one is coming to Owensboro to be autographed by us and sent to Paige Kolok who is in the Peace Corp in Niger, Africa. Our hope is she will be able to use it to document her work and teach the locals.

The 4 Daily S’s of Being a Man
Being a man has a lot of requirements and duties. Mowing the grass, providing for the family, changing the oil in the car, putting up the Christmas lights, etc. However, there are 4 essential things that a man needs to do DAILY. These are “The 4 Daily “S”s of Being a Man”.
1. Sh*t – While this may seem crude, the reality is that a good daily sh*t is the mark of a healthy man. To do this daily, you must eat well and get a little exercise both of which are important to being a man.

Reaching God’s Goal for Us

Can we reach God’s goal for us? No, WE can’t reach perfection however we can allow God to make us perfect through him. He’s guiding us toward perfection all we have to do is get out the way! We’re the ones keeping God from working through us and in us.

36 CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS
An Angel says, “Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn’t happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.”
1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won’t fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together.

Unite your avocation and your vocation
I just heard Dewitt Jones’ give his
Extraordinary Visions speech. In it he mentions a Robert Frost poem Two Tramps in Mud Time. I wasn’t aware of. The last part of the poem goes like this.
- But yield who will to their separation,
My object in living is to unite
My avocation and my vocation
As my two eyes make one in sight.
Only where love and need are one,
And the work is play for mortal stakes,
Is the deed ever really done
For Heaven and the future’s sakes.
Independence Day away from home
I spent this 4th of July in San Diego, CA. During the day I spent some time walking the streets. The diverse culture of the San Diego Bay area reminded me of one of the things that makes this country great. US Citizens, no matter the color or ethnic background are treated equally. I know, this hasn’t always been the case and we’re not a perfect nation so there are still places and situations where some people are more equal than others, but the principal is still sound and the goal is still noble.
